This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting some of the incredible women leaders across Orchestra and inviting them to reflect on the influences and experiences that have shaped their careers.

Our latest conversation is with Bianca Garcia, Orchestra's Head of Paid Media. Bianca partners with clients to find clarity in a crowded media landscape and translate that into meaningful impact.

Below, she shares thoughts on how to build a strong team, her advice for women just starting out, and a key lesson from a VIP in her life (her mom).

Q: If you could have dinner with any woman from history, who would it be? What would you ask her?

Bianca Garcia: My maternal grandmother passed away before I was born, but from everything I’ve heard, she was a career woman who defied expectations, fiercely loved her family and dressed impeccably. I would like to hear stories about my mom and uncles growing up AND get some life advice along the way.

Q: What’s one piece of advice from a woman in your life that you’ll never forget?

BG: My mom always taught me to be kind and generous, but not a pushover. It’s something I carry with me everyday.

Q: Tell us about a woman you’ve loved working with during your time at Orchestra.

BG: I’ve really loved working with my boss, Katharine Offinger, our Head of Channels. She leads with clarity and trust, and pushes you to be better while making you feel completely supported. She helps make work fun!

Q: How have you grown as a leader at Orchestra?

BG: I’ve learned to zoom out more, focusing less on doing everything myself and more on building and empowering a strong team. Letting go a bit has made me a more effective leader.

Q: What is something younger you would be proud of about your career today?

BG: I’ve wanted to work in advertising since high school, so younger me would be very happy to know I lead the paid media capability at a very cool agency, and that I actually enjoy what I do!

Q: What advice would you give to women just starting out in their careers?

BG: Know that you’ll likely have to work hard — sometimes harder than your male peers, and if you’re a woman of color, even more so — but don’t let that stop you from advocating for yourself and celebrating your wins. And find a team you genuinely like and respect, because it makes all the difference.
