Public Relations Internship Program
The Orchestra Public Relations Internship Program offers a hands-on, high-impact experience designed for individuals interested in public relations, communications, and brand storytelling. Interns gain exposure to strategic communications, media relations, and creative brand work across a wide range of industries — including tech, real estate, lifestyle, culture, gaming, fashion, and social impact.
Interns work directly on real client accounts, attend meetings, and collaborate with experienced PR professionals to develop tactical and strategic skills essential for success in the industry.
- Locations: Hybrid programs based primarily in New York, NY; BerlinRosen also offers positions in Washington, D.C.
- Format: Interns are expected to be in-office at least three days per week.
- Duration & Schedule: - BerlinRosen: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m. ET)
- Derris: Part-time, up to 21 hours/week (Tuesday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET)
 
Teams
Interns are embedded on specific teams, collaborating with staff on real projects. Depending on placement, you may support work in areas such as:
BerlinRosen Teams:
- Arts & Culture: Partners with leading cultural institutions, design firms, and arts organizations that shape the creative landscape of New York and beyond.
- Cities, Real Estate & Public Affairs: Drives communications for clients in real estate, public affairs, housing, and policy issues like clean energy and healthcare.
- Gaming: Works across gaming, digital entertainment, and emerging technologies like the metaverse and blockchain.
- Impact: Supports mission-driven organizations and foundations focused on climate, education, reproductive rights, and social justice.
- Legal Affairs and Crisis Communications: Advises clients on media strategy, reputation management, and major legal communications.
- Lifestyle & Hospitality: Manages PR for hospitality, travel, and tourism brands including hotels, destinations, and restaurants.
- Technology: Represents tech innovators from startups to global industry leaders across consumer tech, fintech, and urban innovation.
- Sports Business: Develops communication strategies for sports teams, leagues, and investors at the intersection of sports and business.
Derris Teams
- Content + Creative:  Develops brand identity, voice, copy, and visual content strategies across social and marketing channels.
- Influencer Marketing: Partners with creators to integrate influencer engagement into broader PR and marketing campaigns.
- In-Person: Brings brands to life through immersive retail experiences, pop-ups, hospitality activations, and in-person events.

Interviewing
- Interview Process:
 Our process includes four stages:- Application Review
- Trial Project - A short, anonymized task to assess your approach to the work and reduce bias
- Virtual interview - A conversation to discuss your background, interests, and trial project
- References - A quick check with past managers or peers
 
- Preparation Tips: - Be ready to talk about your background, your completed trial project, and your interest in public relations and Orchestra.
- Come with 2–3 thoughtful questions for your interviewer.
- Send a thank-you note to your recruiter after interviews.
 
- Recruiter Contact: Your recruiter is your main point of contact for all questions and updates.
Program Details
- Schedule - BerlinRosen: Full-time, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)

- Conversion Potential: While full-time roles aren’t guaranteed, a significant percentage of full-time hires are former interns.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: - BerlinRosen: $18/hour
- Derris: $16.50/hour
 
- Time Off: - BerlinRosen interns receive 3 PTO days + 3 paid wellness days.
 
- BerlinRosen interns receive 3 PTO days + 3 paid wellness days.
- Credit: College credit is available with documentation from your school (submitted at least two weeks before the internship ends).
- Relocation: Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
- Eligibility: Open to current students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals.
